One Prague night with a sprinkling of snow. Alex has a dream: to record a banger with the famous rapper Sergei Barracuda, to become famous and to win back his girlfriend. But there is a snag in it: he needs to have 5k euros in his pocket at the end of the day which means he needs to seal lots and lots of deals and sell tons of nose candy. Together with his friend Láďa, Alex sets out for a crazy journey through the Prague night clubs. Will he fulfil his dream or lose everything? One of the most acclaimed Czech films of the last year, BANGER. has obtained many awards for its cinematic and musical qualities, but also earned respect of audiences across generations.

Adam Sedlák (*1989) – director

Adam Sedlák is part of the new generation of Czech directors. His films are progressive in terms of form and content and deal with current issues. His debut film Domestik addresses the topic of bodybuilding; it received two nominations for the Czech Lions Awards and it won the Best Sound Award. For BANGER., Sedlák obtained the Best Direction prize of the Czech Film Critics’ Awards.
